Daryn Dodson is Managing Director of Illumen Capital, an impact investing firm that provides a pathway for family offices, foundations, and institutional investors to invest in the world's top impact funds. Illumen Capital's unique approach applies pioneering research it conducts with Stanford University—including interventions that reduce implicit bias.
Mr. Dodson’s experience in the impact investing field includes serving as a consultant to the Board of the Calvert funds, where he provided research and support services to the Board in connection with the funds’ Special Equities program. The Calvert Funds, with over $35 billion under management, are a recognized pioneer in the socially responsible investment field. Prior to serving as a consultant to the Calvert Funds board, Mr. Dodson served as Director of University and Corporate Partnerships for The Idea Village, where he created a platform engaging leading private equity firms, business schools, and Fortune 500 companies to invest over 100,000 hours and $2 million into more than 1,000 New Orleans entrepreneurs post-Hurricane Katrina. Prior to The Idea Village, Mr. Dodson built a coalition of national banks and faith-based institutions to educate Congress on reforms needed to stabilize the subprime lending market with Self-Help Credit Union.
Mr. Dodson currently serves on the Board of Directors for Ben and Jerry’s, chairing its Audit Committee, which measures the company’s impact in 35 countries. Mr. Dodson also previously served on the Dean’s Management Board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Board of Trustees of the Heifer Foundation. Mr Dodson also serves on the Investment Committee of Wayfarer Foundation and is a Lecturer in Impact Investing at Stanford Business School. Mr. Dodson earned his M.B.A. from Stanford and an A.B. in Public Policy from Duke University.
